Inspiration
In the cacophony of life, each moment holds a melody waiting to be discovered. Our inspiration was the quest to bring forth the soundtrack of the now—beyond preferences, reaching into the soul of the present.
What it does
Searchify transcends traditional music recommendation boundaries. Leveraging real-time environmental and emotional data, it curates playlists that resonate with the user’s current context, mood, and setting, crafting an unparalleled personalized music experience.
How we built it
We engineered Searchify on a foundation of tech ingenuity and musical empathy. At its heart is Gemini, our AI, which harmonizes Spotify's rich data with sensory inputs. MongoDB stores user profiles while the Spotify API bridges past preferences with real-time tailored recommendations.
Challenges we ran into
We navigated API limitations, fine-tuned our image recognition algorithms, and crafted a responsive, intuitive interface. Also storing user data in database is also a highlight. Additionally, we had issues integrating our front and backend which led to significant setbacks.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
From a nascent idea to a fully functional prototype, Searchify is now a symphony of code and creativity. We’re especially proud of Gemini’s ability to interpret nuanced data—a technical ballet we orchestrated from scratch.
What we learned
We learned that true personalization is multi-dimensional. It's not just about what you've enjoyed before but what you'll cherish in the now. This project taught us the power of machine learning, the challenge of seamless user experience design, and the infinite potential of music. We also learned important lessons when working in hackathons such as time planning and the importance of frequent code synchronization
What's next for Searchify
We envision Searchify as the future of musical interaction. Next, we aim to integrate voice commands, enhance our machine learning models for even more nuanced recommendations, and explore partnerships to enrich our database, pushing the frontiers of how we experience music. We also aim to integrate a camera feature where as opposed to uploading pictures, users can take a picture directly in app
