Inspiration

Sathvik, one of our team members, is colorblind, so we decided to address a common accessibility problem a lot of colorblind people face: color recognition.

What it does

This shows the colors for people who are color blind to read the different colors around them - by creating a simple format to use, this app is easy to use for all. In addition, this app features a filter which alters the video of the individual to reflect that of which a red-green colorblind individual sees the world.

How we built it

We built it using repl.it with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

Challenges we ran into

We initially ran into challenges when trying to load the camera's current view and current pixel data. The camera was not able to load onto the code at all, and took many hours to work around

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to figure out how to load the camera into the code and found, used, combined, and built a ton of useful camera functions to use for this app.

What we learned

We all learned more about coding with a camera, gathering pixel data, and accessibility. For some of our programmers, we learned about learning a new language whose potential was previously untapped. Also, we learned that together, we can figure out and solve any problem.
