YGIT has always been a personal project that inspires me. It was created with the aim to open up pathways for everyone into the tech industry, especially for those from underrepresented backgrounds who may find the tech landscape intimidating or inaccessible. The evolution of artificial intelligence offered a unique opportunity to enhance and streamline this process. Motivated by this potential, I developed YGIT-AI, leveraging AI to deliver personalized guidance and learning roadmaps, making the tech industry more accessible.
What it does
The development of YGIT-AI involved the integration of OpenAI's GPT-4 model, renowned for its advanced language understanding and generation capabilities. This AI model was chosen for its ability to interpret complex user queries and generate detailed, coherent, and contextually appropriate content. By utilizing GPT-4, YGIT-AI can provide users with customized educational roadmaps based on their specific career interests in technology.

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring the AI's responses were both informative and actionable proved to be a meticulous task that involved a deep understanding of both the technology and the educational needs of our users.

What we learned
Throughout the development of YGIT-AI, we learned a great deal about natural language processing and the intricacies of AI user interaction. Crafting prompts that lead to practical and meaningful AI output required a deep dive into user intent and educational structuring. We also enhanced our skills in API integration and front-end development using Streamlit.

The journey of creating YGIT-AI was immensely educational. It deepened my understanding of AI's capabilities and limitations and improved my skills in designing user-focused applications. The project also highlighted the importance of clear communication with AI to achieve useful outputs, teaching me valuable lessons in user interaction design and AI prompt engineering.
