Inspiration
We wanted to create a website that would help users familiarize themselves with their economic behavior.
What it does
Fintelligent displays data visualizations of your expenses and earnings while helping you learn about a variety of finance topics.
How we built it
We used React.js as the front end of the website and Express.js as the back end. We integrated the website application with the Plaid API, using Link to get an access token and the Plaid sandbox. Tailwind CSS was used for styling.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was integrating the Plaid API accounts with the website since we had to get the access token to query the Plaid endpoints with it as a POST method.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are supremely proud of learning to work with the Plaid API, Tailwind CSS, and gaining a deeper understanding of Express.JS, Axios, and React.js.
What we learned
We learned how to use the Plaid API, Tailwind CSS, POST methods, Axios, Chart.js, CORS, and more. It was a lot of fun, and we learned a lot. ^_^
What's next for Fintelligent
We plan on providing more individualized suggestions on how to improve your finances by analyzing the user's banking data.
