Inspiration

With the social good theme in mind, we wanted to create a project that people could use and really benefit from.

What it does

Safecation takes in a location as user input and displays health and disease hot spots/statistics on a map, Crime grades and rates, and has a AI chatbot to give advice about any questions or concerns you have about the statistics or location.

How we built it

We used React and Javascript for the frontend of the project. Flask and Python were used for the backend.

Challenges we ran into

Everything was a challenge. Ensuring a good connection from the frontend to the backend was one of the harder challenges we overcame

We are very proud that we have a fully working finished project

What we learned

We learned very much about building a solid frontend with react.

What's next for Safecation

Improving the user experience by improving map functionality and ease of use. This could include more map features as well as easier inputs. Additionally, add more features in general. We hope to get crime statistics on there, as well as potentially having more finite zones for more specific information. Lastly, we hope to host it online for anyone to use
