Inspiration
Weekend afternoons at the arcade til the quarters ran dry, and hours spent visiting gif and sound loaded websites built by friends and family
What it does
Attempts to take the user back to simpler times
How we built it
Built using open source projects to replicate classic arcade titles into Javascript.
Challenges we ran into
Lots of issues with molding legacy code to fit the format that we were looking for, navigating directory issues was a fun surprise when transitioning from local testing to deployment
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Having a finished product despite only half of the team showing up. Surviving to submit a finished project.
What we learned
How to effectively divide tasks, support each other as a team, work collaboratively through Git with another person for the first time, and somehow dodge merge conflicts!
What's next for Riverbat Retrocade
More elaborate cabinet designs, a greater library of titles, backend support for leaderboards, and the eventual inclusion of original games and multiplayer support. multiplayer support.
