Proficio AI was conceived to bridge this gap, employing artificial intelligence to revolutionize hiring by making it more personalized, efficient, and fair for all parties involved.

What it does

Proficio AI transforms the hiring landscape with an AI-assisted behavioral and technical interview tool. By inputting a job title, job description, and their resume, users can generate custom-tailored interviews designed to assess a candidate's suitability for a role accurately.

The platform's core strength lies in its ability to conduct interviews that are deeply personalized, assessing candidates on criteria directly relevant to the job. This not only streamlines the recruitment process for employers but also provides job seekers with a fair and transparent opportunity to showcase their abilities.

How we built it

The foundation of Proficio AI is built upon a robust, modern tech stack designed for scalability, efficiency, and a seamless user experience. Here's a glimpse into our technology:

Frontend Excellence: Crafted with React and the Vite front-end framework for a responsive, intuitive interface.
Stylish UI/UX: Tailwind CSS and DaisyUI enhance the visual appeal and user interaction, ensuring a pleasant, easy-to-navigate platform.
Serverless Architecture: Deployed on AWS using SST and the AWS CDK for robust, scalable infrastructure that includes Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge, API Gateway, and Websockets.
AI Integration: Leveraging OpenAI's cutting-edge technologies, including Whisper, we've created a platform that understands and interacts with users, transcending the limitations of traditional interview tools.

Challenges we ran into

The path to innovation is rarely without its obstacles, and the journey of Proficio AI was no exception. One of the more pronounced challenges we encountered was the race against time. Our ambitious vision for a comprehensive platform included the implementation of an "enhance response" feature, designed to guide users towards crafting optimal responses. However, the intricacy of its development and the depth of AI integration it required meant that it remained just beyond our reach within our initial timelines.

Staging environments, essential for testing and development, became a battleground of conflicting updates and changes. The collaborative nature of our work, while a source of strength and diversity in ideas, also led to moments of overlap and confusion. Ensuring that each team member's work seamlessly integrated without overriding another's became a puzzle that required constant attention and fine-tuning.

Perhaps our most formidable challenge was the integration of completed components, notably our AI code interview assistant feature. While we succeeded in implementing most of its functionality, the final step of harmonizing this feature with the rest of the platform proved to be a Herculean task. The complexity of making disparate parts work together as a cohesive whole tested our resolve and demanded a level of ingenuity and flexibility that was both challenging and enlightening.
