Why We Do This:

In today's whirlwind of busyness and constant stimulation, our thoughts often fly by, leaving us little time for introspection, a vital part of being human. Here at PoeTracker, we're dedicated to creating a space where thoughts aren't fleeting but celebrated.

The benefits of journaling have long been reinforced to combat the aforementioned problem, yet as hardcore STEM enthusiasts, we understand the struggle of forming logical statements describing our emotions. PoeTracker revolutionizes journaling, letting you transform even the most incoherent thoughts into beautiful pieces of art.

Challenges:

Our journey with Poetracker hasn't been without its challenges. Our entire team didn't know what to expect coming into this Hackathon as beginners. In fact, only one team member even had experience in more than one programming language. We struggled to figure out which tools and languages were essential for our project, encountered what feels like a million design issues, and constantly grappling with the question of which application style would best serve our unique idea. However, with the power of collaboration and guidance of mentors, we managed to agree on realistic goals and successfully craft a working product.

Future Developments:

We're not stopping here. Poetracker envisions a future where we reimagine social media, engaging the community in meaningful art. We're planning to incorporate an audio aspect, allowing users to create spoken word versions of their poems. We aim to build a social media platform where media is genuinely meaningful, promoting moments of slowing down in our fast-paced world. Moreover, we're dedicated to engaging more people in the world of art, balancing our stem-centric world with creativity.
