Inspiration

Our motivation stemmed from a desire to empower the community by providing a user-friendly dashboard for analyzing trends in student interaction with Ram Pantries across VCU's locations.

What it does

The platform utilizes data processing via Pandas and visualization through Plotly's Dash to present and manipulate data frames across various visualization contexts. Designed with future use in mind, flexibly allowing for Excel input and dynamically cleans data. Notably, it offers robust time series analysis capabilities.

How we built it

Leveraging Dash from Plotly alongside Pandas, we conducted comprehensive time series analysis on the data. Our toolkit included Bootstrap for frontend design and Python for backend functionality. Figma was instrumental in enhancing the visual appeal of our project.

Challenges we ran into

We faced hurdles in seamlessly integrating the frontend with the backend. Additionally, mastering Plotly within a limited timeframe proved challenging. Furthermore, we encountered formatting issues during data planning.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our primary achievement lies in successfully developing a map and dashboard using Plotly. Despite the initial struggle, we persevered and achieved success.

What we learned

The project provided valuable learning experiences, particularly in mastering Plotly, and refining our skills in HTML, Python, Bootstrap, and Pandas.

What's next for Pantry Stats

Our program is designed to be easily adaptable for future analysis. This flexibility allows for seamless adjustments according to events from the academic calendar or other relevant factors, ensuring its continued usefulness for future modifications.
