Inspiration
Have you ever struggled to find the perfect photographer? Someone with both the talent and the right fit for your vision? That's exactly what sparked the idea for our platform. We realized there was a gap between talented photographers and potential clients who needed their services.
What it does
We envisioned a space where photographers could showcase their work in a visually stunning way, highlighting their unique styles and expertise. On the flip side, clients could browse through a diverse range of portfolios, filtering by genre, budget, and any specific needs they might have. To make the experience even more engaging and entertaining, users can also scroll through and interact with short video content from photographers.
How we built it
We built our platform using React js and Tailwind css , using github for version control.
Challenges we ran into
Time wasn't always on our side. We had to adapt and make strategic adjustments to our initial grand plan to meet deadlines. Integrating all the different parts led us to face a lot of merge conflicts.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Even though 2/3 members of our team were new to working with react and tailwind, we managed to learn it and figure it out to make it work seamlessly. Designing it as well as adding functionality to it was challenging but also rewarding.
What we learned
We learnt the importance of updating our code as soon as possible so there aren't any future merge conflicts as well as ensuring we work on different branches. This project also showed us the value of teamwork, where everyone's unique skills came together to build something amazing, even with different levels of expertise.
What's next for LensMingle App
Our next steps are to make the platform super user-friendly. We'll build features for photographers too, so they can create profiles and upload their work. We also want to add a booking feature so users can even book photographers directly on the platform – no more hassle! We'll also add secure in-app payments for a smooth experience.
