Inspiration
During the MLH GHW API i was tasked by 404_not_found to create a generative art application. We discussed that involving math with art is a cool idea. In addition to that i was actually planning on creating an app that visualizes the mathematical equations available to the field of mathematics, so that any person can learn the beauty of mathematics.
What it does
Generative art accepts parameters that involves on manipulating how wavy, how many circles, etc. to create a stunning pattern drawn in to an image canvas.
How we built it
I actually built it using django, numpy, tailwind, and html. It was a quick build as i focused more on creating an MVP (and of-course i used django).
Challenges we ran into
The challenge that i run into was what equations to use to create the most appealing math art. the answer was trigonometry
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully creating an MVP in a short amount of time ( probably half a day if you remove the procrastination periods )
What we learned
When faced with immediate challenges you don't need to be ready, you need to be brave.
What's next for generative_art
Generative art will evolve with time, as i have many ideas on ways to make it more flexible and useful.
