Inspiration

We were inspired by the alarming statistic that only 18% of people know how to properly administer CPR, despite learning it at some point. This highlighted the urgent need for accessible, engaging education on emergency healthcare.

What it does

Our app, "First Emergency Aid," provides quick and understandable instructions for emergency situations like choking and natural disasters. It also offers gamified learning modules to make acquiring these life-saving skills fun and accessible for all.

How we built it

We built "First Emergency Aid" using a combination of app development tools and educational resources. We collaborated with healthcare professionals to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of our instructional content.

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge was designing an intuitive user interface that would guide users through emergency procedures effectively, especially in high-stress situations. We also faced difficulties in integrating interactive learning elements seamlessly into the app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to have developed an app that can potentially save lives by equipping people with essential emergency healthcare skills. Additionally, receiving positive feedback from early users has been incredibly rewarding.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned the importance of user-centric design in creating effective educational tools. We also gained valuable insights into the complexities of emergency healthcare and the challenges of translating this knowledge into accessible digital formats.

What's next for First Emergency Aid!

In the future, we aim to expand the app's content to cover a wider range of emergencies and incorporate advanced features like real-time assistance and community engagement functionalities. Additionally, we plan to explore partnerships with schools and healthcare organizations to promote widespread adoption and impact.
