Inspiration
We were inspired by the lack of inclusive fitness solutions for individuals who might be deemed unfit. We believe that fitness and exercise should not be privileges reserved only for the able-bodied but should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their physical condition.
What it does
The project involves using a specialized circuit to monitor and evaluate the range of motion of a person with limited mobility. By examining the individual's specific movement abilities, the app can suggest customized exercise plans to support their rehabilitation and enhance their quality of life.
How we built it
We utilized TinkerCAD Circuit to simulate a prototype of our wearable device. In this setup, the flex sensor emulates the movement of the knee joint, capturing a range of bending angles. This data is then processed by our program to generate a personalized rehabilitation and exercise plan, customized to the individual's recorded range of motion.
Challenges we ran into
Due to shortages of circuit components, we were unable to physically build the prototype. Instead, we opted to use a TinkerCAD simulation of the circuit as a substitute prototype.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Through this process, we've learned the importance of adaptability and resilience in product development. Despite facing challenges such as component shortages, we found innovative solutions like utilizing TinkerCAD simulations. Additionally, our experience reinforced the significance of our product's mission in providing inclusive fitness opportunities for individuals with mobility limitations.

What's next for EmpowerMotion
Our next step involves expanding the capabilities of our product to accommodate a wider range of angle measurements taken by the knee joint. By enhancing its flexibility, we can cater to various degrees of movement, ensuring a more accurate and personalized rehabilitation plan. Furthermore, we envision extending our product to encompass other joints throughout the body. This expansion would enable us to assist not only patients who have undergone total joint replacements but also individuals in the early stages of physical degenerative disorders. By providing tailored exercise plans and monitoring capabilities for multiple joints, we can support a broader spectrum of users in improving their mobility and overall well-being.
