Inspiration
We wanted to classify dinosaur diets.
What it does
Our model predicts a dinosaur’s diet based on the dinosaur’s time period it lived in, what country it is from, its type, and its length.
How we built it
We used HTML/CSS and JavaScript for the front end. As for the back end, we created visualizations and a classifier model in Python.
Challenges we ran into
Synthesizing the front end and back end aspects of the project was challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of a 93% accurate model as well as the moving dinosaur.
What we learned
- Improved our understanding of machine learning
- Got more comfortable with plots
- Learned to use seaborn, xgboost and sklearn
- Learned how to bootstrap for web development
What's next for Dinosaur Diet Classifier
We can improve the front end website by making it responsive.
