Inspiration

When I was a little kid I was almost hit by a car because I wasn’t paying attention when walking in the streets, ever since then I’ve always had a fear of crossing the roads in the presence of cars, so our team came together and made something that would solve the issue of rampant cars and inattentive civilians.

What it does

It uses image detection to see any moving vehicles on the road and people on the sidewalk. When it sees no moving cars and people waiting to cross, it marches valiantly forward to protect you from any oncoming automobiles, signaling them to stop with a stop sign, ensuring your safety.

How we built it

We used a Rasberry Pi and 3 web cameras to get Omni directional image data to optimally asses every angle of the intersection. From there we used arduinos and motors to create the moving system, and finally the 3D printing for the stop sign.
