Inspiration

The inspiration behind Cosmic Learn stemmed from the observation of a lack of modern, inviting space content online. Existing space websites often felt outdated and unwelcoming. We aimed to create an interactive platform that is sleek, modern, and welcoming to newcomers, with a focus on reducing friction by eliminating the need for sign-ups. Our goal is to make space exploration more accessible and enjoyable for young learners and enthusiasts.

What it does

Cosmic Learn is an interactive website that offers a seamless space exploration experience. Users can access a variety of engaging content, including a discussion board for space enthusiasts, daily space trivia, and comprehensive information about space. The platform aims to inspire curiosity and facilitate learning about space in an accessible and user-friendly manner.

How we built it

We built Cosmic Learn using Next.js and Tailwind CSS to create a visually appealing frontend. Additionally, we integrated the OpenAI API to power our chat room function. Despite facing challenges with Next.js and React due to our team's limited experience with these technologies, we successfully developed and deployed the product.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we encountered was navigating Next.js and React, as our team was relatively new to these technologies. However, through collaboration and perseverance, we overcame these challenges and successfully implemented the desired features.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have completed the Cosmic Learn platform and successfully deployed it for users to access. Despite the challenges we faced, we were able to create a sleek, modern website that fulfills our vision of providing an engaging and accessible space exploration experience.

What we learned

Throughout the development process, we gained valuable experience working with new languages and technologies, such as Next.js and Tailwind CSS. Additionally, we deepened our understanding of space exploration and the importance of making educational content more accessible to a wider audience.

What's next for Cosmic Learn

Moving forward, our goal is to continue improving and expanding the Cosmic Learn platform. We plan to add more features and content to enhance the user experience and further establish Cosmic Learn as the go-to website for anything space-related. We are excited about the potential for growth and look forward to continuing our journey of inspiring curiosity and exploration in the realm of space.
