Inspiration

We wanted to make an emergency service that uses modern technology to fill the gaps in the current system.

What it does

It is an app that uses machine learning and on-device AI models to assess the emergency and provide quick and simple instructions for the user as well as information to the nearest hospital with ambulance, if necessary. Using the latest visual recognition models in combination with a generative language model, this app will be the essential tool for earliest responders, making proper first aid available until an ambulance arrives, even if the user didn't know first aid.

How we built it

The prototype is currently only on iOS devices as the tools used are primarily Xcode, and swift. We used CreateML to train our own custom visual recognition model and implemented it in the app.

Challenges we ran into

First time working with these technologies proved some difficulty, some ideas couldn't be realized completely, but we're still proud of what we accomplished.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learned a lot about iOS development tools, resources and the overall workflow. We were able to train our own AI, and utilize it. But most of all, we hope our 24 hour project will indirectly save lives.

What we learned

A lot can be accomplished in 24 hours.

What's next for Aid.AI

Perhaps it might actually become an internationally beloved application that saves lives.
