Inspiration
Much of today's youth struggles with transitioning to online learning, both in and out of the classroom. We were motivated to create tools that can benefit both teachers and students in making the learning process easier.
What it does
Our website educates teachers on disabilities by providing informational resources. Students are also given a variety of accessibility tools to make digital learning easier.
How we built it
Our team brainstormed ideas and divided the workload into three roles, research, development, and graphic design. Everyone contributed to researching information and implementing ideas.
Challenges we ran into
Our team had little to no experience in HTML; however, we built a functional website by learning along the way. A few challenges we encountered were consolidating our ideas down into something feasible within 24 hours and implementing the more technical parts of the features we created.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the functionality of our website despite having no experience in this area. Additionally, we successfully implemented many unique features.
What we learned
We learned how to code in HTML, CSS, and information on disabilities.
What's next for AdaptED
As our community grows, AdaptED wants to implement interactive features for users such as discussion boards and forums. We also plan to partner with non-profits to raise awareness and expand our reach.
